We are committed to patient safety at Kat & Co, so when the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (BAAPS) discouraged its members from performing Brazilian Buttock Lift (BBL) surgery we stopped offering this procedure.
The BAAPS has recently updated its guidelines for BBL surgery, advising that fat should only be injected above the muscle to avoid the potential complications from this surgery. This modified procedure is also known as superficial gluteal lipofilling (SGL)
It is highly important to choose a well trained, experienced, and GMC registered specialist when considering this procedure, and we highly discourage patients from seeking this treatment abroad, due to the related safety concerns. Our expert BBL surgeons, Dr Leonardo Fasano and Mrs CC Kat, are highly experienced and properly trained at performing the Brazilian Butt Lift (SGL) safely and with amazing results. We have even been featured in Tatler magazine as a leading specialist in BBL surgery.
In addition to the safety modifications recommended by BAAPS, we also use less invasive vaser liposuction to harvest the fat necessary for this procedure. Vaser liposuction has multiple benefits for this procedure, including:
Your Brazilian Butt Lift (SGL) procedure will be performed at our specialist day case clinic at 20 Calthorpe Road in Birmingham. We offer this surgery under Twilight Anaesthetic or TIVA for a faster recovery time and decreased side effects than general anaesthetic. You will be able to leave the clinic on the same day as your procedure. A consultant anaesthetist will administer your anaesthetic and be in the clinic throughout your recovery period to ensure you recover safely.
The procedure takes around 3 hours to complete, although this may take longer if more liposuction is required/desired. Typically, patients will be able to return to work after 2 weeks for which they should avoid pressing, rubbing or sitting on the buttocks. Full details of the procedure can be found on our Brazilian Butt Lift information page.
