Liposuction is a surgical procedure to remove unwanted fat deposits, usually located in the hips, thighs, tummy and underside of the arms.
Vaser liposuction is a technique that uses ultrasound technology to target fat cells, breaking them down selectively to make them easier to extract. What distinguishes the Vaser lipo procedure is its ability to differentiate fatty tissue from other important structures - such as nerves, blood vessels and connective tissue. The liquefied fat can be removed with a needle, reducing damage to nearby tissues.
Vaser liposuction is suitable for most people looking for a cosmetic solution to tone and sculpt their body. But before carrying out the procedure, we’ll always sit down with you and discuss how suitable it is.
VASER lipo is very effective for removing persistent areas of fat that you can’t get rid of through dieting or exercise. Many people find that it’s easy to lose weight from the face or upper body, but it might seem impossible to shed those extra pounds from the waist or bottom. This is where VASER liposuction can help. It’s a fast, low-pain solution that could be just what you’re looking for.
It’s worth remembering though that it’s not a quick-fix when it comes to weight loss and will only work long-term if you’re committed to a healthy lifestyle. That’s why before offering you any vaser lipo treatment, our surgeons will look at your body shape and make sure it’s right for you.
Vaser liposuction can be used to remove fat almost anywhere. The most common areas for treatment include:
1 - 4 hours
Local or Twilight
Daycase
2-3 days
Bruising, swelling, temporary numbness
Infection, bad scarring, asymmetry, bleeding, permanent numbness, nerve damage
1 week, 3 months (after surgery)
2 - 3 days
Resume when you feel comfortable to do so
6 weeks until final result
VASER liposuction is a quicker, less invasive and more precise method of liposuction. Using the latest technology, VASER lipo harnesses the power of ultrasound to exclusively target fat cells. This means a shorter, gentler procedure, better results, and faster recovery times.
Vaser liposuction starts from £3,263 plus £1,400 for each additional area. Please get in touch to confirm your fee. All patients will require a consultation prior to surgery to assess your individual requirements and desires.

Liposuction is an extremely common cosmetic procedure, and the vaser technique improves upon traditional liposuction in terms of safety and results. Vaser liposuction has been proven to be safe and causes minimal side effects. It also causes less blood loss than traditional liposuction, especially with larger or more complex areas.
The best way to minimise the risk of VASER lipo side effects is to use a highly skilled cosmetic surgeon. It’s their experience and skill, as well as cutting-edge equipment, that will ensure you get outstanding results and a lower risk of complications.
VASER liposuction is far less invasive than traditional liposuction, and we’ll do all we can to set you at ease and make you comfortable. When we get underway, your surgeon will mark your body in the areas that are being treated. After this you lie down and we administer a local anaesthetic (or sedation if required). Once the anaesthetic takes effect, we make tiny incisions near the marks and inject tumescent fluid to expand the tissue layer. Once this is done your surgeon will insert a small ultrasonic emitting probe which targets fat cells and breaks them apart. A small hollow tube (cannula) is then used to gently suck the fat away. The procedure is concluded with the incisions being closed and dressed with bandages and a compression garment placed over the top.
VASER liposuction normally takes between one to four hours. The exact time will depend on the size and number of areas treated. Typically, each area will take around an hour to treat.
You will be able to go home on the same day as your vaser liposuction procedure. We use either local or twilight anaesthetic meaning reduced recovery time and lower associated risks than with general anaesthetic.
You’ll be able to get on with most things you normally do the day after treatment – or as soon as you feel ok. But with VASER liposuction, it’s good to allow yourself around two to three weeks to fully recover. If you can go for a few walks in those early days that will really help with the drainage of fluid, just avoid any strenuous activity for about a month to let your body get back to normal.
The time you’ll need to take off work really depends on the amount of areas you have treated and what work you do. If you work in an office, you should be fine to return within one to three days after treatment – but you might want to take off a week to let the swelling go down and for your wounds to stop leaking.
There is usually very little pain following vaser liposuction, and this can be managed easily with painkillers. Minor swelling around the area will usually remain for around 5-6 weeks and you may also experience some bruising or numbness during this period.
The main differences are how the technologies treat the fat and what kind of treatments can be performed. Laser lipolysis uses a laser fiber to deliver laser energy to the fatty tissue through an incision in the skin. Laser lipolysis is not tissue selective, so important tissue structures like blood vessels and nerves can be damaged in the treatment. VASER Lipo, on the other hand, uses a thin probe to deliver ultrasonic energy to selectively break apart the fat while preserving important tissues to promote fast recovery and smooth skin retraction. Typically, laser lipolysis is only used to treat small areas of localised fat. VASER Lipo can be used to treat both small and large areas of the body. Both of these procedures use small instruments and can be performed in-office while you are awake.
The professional guideline recommends that no more than 5 litres of fat should be removed in one surgery.

Once you have fat removed, it is gone and, assuming a healthy lifestyle of proper diet and exercise, it will not return or migrate. Following your VASER Lipo procedure, should you experience weight gain or loss, it will tend to be proportionately distributed over your entire body. However, because fat is necessary to a healthy body, some essential fat layers in any given area remain untreated. If you do gain a significant amount of weight, the remaining fatty tissue will expand. Normal ageing changes can also be expected.
If overall weight loss is your primary aim, standalone VASER lipo is not going to be the right solution for you. VASER lipo is for removing fat that you can’t shift through a healthy diet and exercise. If you don’t maintain a healthy lifestyle after VASER lipo treatment, the fat will return to your body.
We recommend you have a course of manual lymphatic drainage (MLD) treatments to aid the healing process and reduce your recovery time. It will help reduce any swelling and bruising, tighten up your skin and act as a detox for your body. Usually you’ll need around five treatments lasting an hour, although you may need more for abdominal, mid-def and hi-def VASER lipo.
